The Oxford Adaptation Academy 2017 - NOW is the time to apply!

The seventh annual Oxford Adaptation Academy is scheduled for August 13-25th, 2017. That may seem a long way off but, each year, there are sadly a few people who try to book at the last minute and discover that they have left it too late. It can take longer than you realise to organise flights, visas, sponsorship, leave from work, and so on.

The OAA is a unique incubator for leadership and innovation within the field of climate adaptation and resilience. It continues to evolve, with each year's programme building on the success of the previous ones. We bring together thought leaders in a diverse range of fields all of which have a bearing on practical responses to climate change. Their contributions are 'glued together' by a core faculty; they help you integrate the ideas with your existing and planned work, and look at yourself and how you will draw on your unique strengths in the future. The programme lasts two weeks, and participants emerge with a very different perspective on adaptation, how it is going to be achieved, and their role in tackling the big issues associated with it. We are humbled by the achievements of some of our participants, and the commitment that their employers have shown to the Academy over several years.

GCAP (the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership), was established in 2010 and was recently independently ranked among the top 10 leading climate think tanks globally. Its team provides knowledge services related to national adaptation investment and finance, climate economics, climate adaptation strategy and planning, and climate risk screening. We support managers holding over $1 billion in funds.
