Dr Mehjabeen Abidi Habib, key speaker at end of Academy dinner

Dr Mehjabeen Abidi-Habib has agreed to speak at the dinner marking the end of the Oxford Adaptation Academy in August 2014. She is a Senior Research Fellow at the Sustainable Development Study Centre of Government College University (GCU), Lahore, Pakistan and Visiting Research Associate at Oxford University.

Her international experience includes the United Nations in Pakistan, NGO work with the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, and she has served on the Board of LEAD International (Leadership for Environment and Development) as a UK Charity Trustee for nine years culminating as Chair of the Board until June 2011.

Mehjabeen has worked on the design, context and structure of a project on climate compatible development at the national level in association with GCAP since 2012. She brings expertise in analysis of stakeholder processes in Pakistan critical to successful engagement and collaborations. Her understanding of governance relations that underpin development pathways is essential for effective adaptation.
