Diagnostic tool for businesses

The Global Climate Adaptation Partnership, with the University of Bath and the University of Manchester, has recently received an award from the UK Technology Strategy Board (TSB). TSB's objective is to accelerate economic growth by stimulating and supporting business-led innovation.

Working with Aster Housing Group the project will provide a robust Adaptation Planning Service (APS-UK) for businesses in the UK. Taking into account the client's business processes, this visual, interactive diagnostic tool will map their exposure to climate related hazards. A strategic decision can then be made that appraises cost and benefits of appropriate management actions.

The outcome is robust planning for businesses facing vulnerability to climate related risks, with the expectation that this prototype will be easily transferred to other businesses in the housing sector. It is a 12 month project and is managed by Daniel Black & Associates (db+a).
